Now, to take full advantage of the incredible momentum the A-Series APU has built, AMD has launched a redesigned brand strategy to emphasize the best-in-class value and performance factors the world’s first and only Accelerated Processing Units are bringing home to the mainstream market.


A-Series APU Brand Realignment for the Component Channel

Already underway and spanning worldwide, the component channel will notice sales and marketing collateral that reflect a key shift in the way AMD brands its current and future APU technologies.

Instead of our component APU products leveraging the same VISION branding and A-series nomenclature as the retail consumer channel, AMD will now implement a component logo methodology—specifically for the channel—in order to place a greater emphasis on the individual APU component.

The new AMD A4, A6 and A8 logo creative aligns to the logos of other successful channel products, such as AMD FX CPUs and AMD Radeon graphics.

As AMD busies itself refreshing current creative landscape and messages to align to new brand ID, ISV partnerships tied to video, gaming and App Acceleration as well as proof points aligned to these areas of focus, please note: this brand transition is for the desktop component channel only.


APU = Best for Video, PC Gaming and App Acceleration

AMD is kicking off the new ‘Best for’ A-Series campaign to highlight the new AMD A-Series processor logos and the accelerated consumer applications that can deliver an AMD advantage. With a new focus on some of today’s most popular applications, these toolkits translate hardware innovation to real world performance. Take, for example:

  • Adobe Flash Player
    With PCs powered by AMD A-Series APUs, Adobe Flash Player (one of the most commonly used video codecs) can be enhanced for a more enjoyable viewing experience. The same GPU-based decode engines that are used to offload CPU decoding of Blu-rays can now be used to decode H.264 encoded Flash video.
  • Corel WinDVD Pro 11
    An advanced 2D and 3D video software player that offer support for the latest video formats, Corel® WinDVD® Pro 11 is able to leverage AMD A-Series APUs to help deliver high-intensity Blu-ray 3D™ playback.
  • DivX
